She was always known as MAMA Elrod to those of us in the Habersham Central "Band of Blue". She tirelessly gave her time and energy to help the band grow and excel. We all became better teenagers and adults because of her love and living example. She seemed to be at her happiest when her house was full of teenagers, eating all her great food and taking over the place. She had a loving spirit that is all to rare these days. I will miss her tremendously ,especially the extra long phone conversations. Rest well MAMA Elrod.

Evelyn was a good friend and was so sweet and kind to everyone. She was a very good cook and I will always
remember her good pound cakes. I will miss seeing her.

Mrs. Elrod was my second mother in high school. She was always so kind to me and spoiled me when I would stay over night with my friend Robin. She made the bestest homemade vegetable soup that I have ever eaten. My last memory of her was several years ago, my Dad and I went to Cleveland Ga to visitation for one of Dad’s friends and we stopped by the Elrod’s home to visit. She welcomed us in and we chatted for a little while and I asked her about Mr. Elrod and she told me that he was no longer with her and I started to cry because I did not know that he had died. She was so sweet to comfort me. Nonetheless we had a wonderful visit and it was as if no time had passed whatsoever since I had seen her. I know that she will be greatly missed by her family and she will forever be in my heart. Love forever to Mama Elrod.

I loved Aunt Evelyn so much. She was always so kind and loving. I have many happy childhood memories playing at her house and even named my first dog after the old and blind dog she lovingly took care of. I enjoyed seeing her lovely flowers and abundant garden. She had a great sense of humor and loved her family. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love Kay Campany
