I am sorry that I could not join the family for the service. I decided it was just to risky to go through two major airports and spend 5 hours on a plane with of COVID-19 so rampant. I watched with my two boys and their families from San Diego. They helped me celebrate Wayne's life and to begin mourning. June, I love you, Mark, and Micheal and his family. That doesn't change with distance. Wayne will always be special to me. One special memory was when he would take cute blue-eyed Debbie with him to ride around on Sunday because she was a girl magnet. I was never invited because I talked too much and told Mama everything. At that time, he did not find me to be a particularly helpful sister. Love you all. Betty Short Matkowski

I remember Wayne from my childhood and teenage years when his sister, Brenda, and I became lifetime friends. Later as an adult educator we met June and taught both sons at SHMS. June sold me a beautiful Pekingese puppy, Gizmo, that we loved for nearly 20 years. As with Brenda, Wayne's memory will be remembered in our prayers. Our love goes to each of you in this time of grief. God bless you all. Sincerely, Richard and Dianne Gallagher
