Obituary for Teresa McCoy Kelley
Teresa McCoy Kelley, age 62, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022.
Born on May 29, 1959, in Commerce, she was the daughter of the late Robert T. “Bob” McCoy and Barbara McElhannon McCoy. Teresa was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church, a homemaker and seamstress. She was known for cooking amazing deserts, she could make anything out of nothing, loved her grandchildren, all children called her Grammie, her family was most important to her.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lori “Doolittle” Kelley.
She is survived by her husband Johnny Kelley of Mt. Airy; son, A. J. Kelley of Mt. Airy; sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby McCallister (Jessica) of Fairview/Demorest, Greg McCallister (Amanda) of Clarkesville; brothers, Jerry McCoy of Auburn, GA, Mike McCoy of Mt. Airy, Mitchell McCoy of Talmo; sisters, Cheryl Downer of Mt. Airy, Linda Gragg of Mt. Airy, Madonna Grant of Jefferson; 8 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other adopted kin.
Funeral services are 2 pm on Thursday, February 17, 2022, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Dr. B.V. Franklin officiating. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery Mt. Airy.
The family will receive friends from 11-2 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
