Obituary for Reynold Irenus Loggins
Reynold Irenus Loggins age 84, of Cornelia, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
Born on October 13, 1938 in Gainesville, he was a son of the late Timothy Irenus “Rene” Loggins and Hazel Carson Loggins. In his early years Mr. Loggins worked for Riegel, but was better known for his many years working as a butcher at Ramsey’s Grocery and also at IGA. He was a long time member, choir director, and Sunday School teacher at Good News Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and traveling with his wife.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Canfield Baker Loggins; grandson, Christopher Baker; brothers, Wayne Loggins and Dean Loggins.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Jeff Loggins (Becky) of Hartwell; step-son and daughter-in-law, Alan Baker (Angelia) of Demorest; step-daughter and son-in-law, Pam Brooks (Chip) of Clarkesville; grandchildren and spouses, Emily Loggins (Drew Miller), Abby Loggins, Tom Loggins, Kaylee Baker, Zac Baker, Jake Brooks (Courtney), Jared Brooks (Bekah), and Veronika Brooks; great grandchildren, Myla Brooks, Frasier Brooks, and Georgia Brooks; brothers, Hugh Loggins, Arvel Loggins, Benny Loggins, and Ted Loggins all of Habersham County; sisters, Marie Loggins Whitaker of White County, Gay Loggins Abercrombie of Lumpkin County; sister-in-law, Debbie Loggins of Habersham County; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Good News Baptist Church with Pastor Austin Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the service hour on Saturday, May 13, 2022, at the church.
