Peggy Lou White Goodson, age 80, of Alto, passed away on Sunday August 2, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Dahlonega, Georgia.

Mrs. Goodson is survived by her husband, Ralph Goodson of Alto; son and daughter-in-law, Randy & Sharon Goodson of Alto; daughter and son-in-law, Beth & Aubrey Elrod of Alto; grandchildren, Tanner Goodson and his wife Brittney, their daughter, Eloise all of Suwanee, LT. Chaz Elrod, U.S.N. and his wife Debbie of Santee, California, Tyler Goodson and his wife Whitney, their sons, Asher and Thatcher all of Alto, Taylor Goodson of Alto, Drew Elrod and his wife Kendall, their daughters, Bellamy & Beth Aven all of Cleveland, Victoria Gunnells and her husband Khristopher of Danielsville; sisters, Edith Goodson of Alto, Willette Mote of Clarkesville and Trudy Galloway of Alto; brothers, Dan White and his wife Sandy of Gainesville and Phil White of Alto; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Goodson was preceded in death by her parents, Beacher & Mellie Segars White; a grandson, Trevor Goodson; brothers, Denver White and Dennis White.

A lifelong resident of Banks County, Peggy was a fun loving ray of sunshine to all who knew her. She was a loving wife for 59 years. To her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Nana was a short order cook, Physician, Psychiatrist, Historian, Disciplinarian and dispenser of solicited and unsolicited wisdom and advice. The family void created by her Heavenly departure brings sadness that cannot be overstated and can only be endured by the realization of Peggy strolling the streets of Glory with Jesus her savior and the countless friends and family gone before her.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, August 4, 2020, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Hicks, Rev. Bobby Griffin and Rev. Scott Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in the Rehoboth Cemetery the former Mt. Sinai Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery with Rev. Matthew Mote officiating.

Dear Family,
I am sorry to hear about Peggy. Randy & Beth, I know what it's like to lose a mother, and it's hard. I also know about losing a sister. May the wonderful memories you have be a comfort to you. We can rest assured from her testimony she is having "the time of her life". May God comfort you in the days to come as only He can.

I graduated from Banks County High School with Peggy. She was a great person and very likeable
with a great personality. My sympathy to her family.

Our Hearts and prayers go out to Ralph, Howard, and all the rest of the family in the Homegoing of Peggy. We loved her and always
thought so much of her and all of the family. We only were there for a short time, but the good memoires will last a lifetime and on into the world to come. Peggy Loved the Lord, and was always ready and willing to share her testimony with those she came in contact with. Over the years she and Ralph have visited us over here in Carolina and we them. We went to Helen together several years ago on the fourth of July, I couldn't believe how big it had gotten, and the quartet sang there on several occasions. Peggy loved company and could cook up a meal at a moment's notice. we will miss her beyond words. God bless all of the family and friends of her, we shall meet again

Peggy was always bubbly and such a sweet spirit. She loves her Lord. She is strolling on Streets of Gold .
