Obituary

Officer Brian McNair, age 53, of Clarkesville, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020.

Born on August 7, 1966, in Atlanta, he was a son of the late John D. and Patricia Petty McNair. OFC McNair was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and retired from the Army National Guard. He not only served his country, but he also served his community as a Deputy Sheriff with Hall County Sheriff’s Office. OFC McNair was a member of Clarkesville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy McNair of Clarkesville; sons: Joseph McNair, Patrick McNair, William McNair, and Isaac McNair; daughters: Sarah McNair, Rose McNair, Isabella McNair, Maureen McNair, and Catherine McNair; and brother, John McNair of Melbourne, FL.

A memorial service will be held at a later date for OFC McNair.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Peach State Bank & Trust, McNair Family, c/o Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

Wendi, you know how we loved your mother, and anything that happens to you is definitely something we are going to love and support you through it. I will definitely contribute to your fund and know that my heart goes out to you and your family at this awful time. Just remember that God's sweet Holy Spirit will fill and surround you with comfort and peace. One day at a time.

John, Wendy and Family, I am so sorry for your lost. Brian will always be remember for cheering people. He served his country, his community, and most of all, his family with honor. One of the most giving person I knew. John, my heart goes out to you. Know that y'all will always be part of my family. Wendy, I never had the pleasure of meeting you but I know how special you are and your beautiful family.
