Obituary for Myra Sue Bohannon (Carlan)
Myra Sue Carlan Bohannon, age 76 of Demorest, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021.
Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on December 13, 1944, she was a daughter of the late John William Carlan and Lila Magnolia Nix Carlan. Mrs. Bohannon was a seamstress and caretaker. She loved care giving and enjoyed sewing, flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone that knew Mrs. Bohannon loved her and she loved them. She never met a stranger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Linda Abernathy, Manolia Bowden and Jo Ann Taylor.
Surviving are her husband, Dewaine Bohannon of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Toby & Daphne Bohannon of Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam & Jon Campbell of Demorest and Kelly & Chip Duncan of Cornelia; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Carlan of Demorest; sister, Arlene Whiting of Demorest; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2 pm, Thursday, May 13, 2021 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 10 Glenlake Pkwy NE South Tower, Suite 400, Atlanta, GA 30328.
