Obituary for Lou Hellen Densmore Turpin

Lou Hellen Densmore Turpin, age 78, of the Hollywood Community in Clarkesville, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022.

Born on February 24, 1943, in Turnerville, she was a daughter of the late Samuel G. Densmore and Ethel Lethia Dover Densmore. Mrs. Turpin was formerly employed with Regency Thermographers and Scovill Fasteners. She was also a caterer and had worked with several local florists and was well known for her cakes and floral talents. She loved her cats and enjoyed playing the piano and singing with her sister, Ommie. Mrs. Turpin attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hugh Turpin; sisters, Ommie Lee Standridge, Iolar Ivester and Mary Adams; brothers, William Densmore and Samuel Densmore, Jr.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Creech (Richard) of Hollywood; sister, Clara Ivester of Turnerville; brother-in-law Winford W. “Red” Standridge of Hollywood; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services are 2 pm on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Austin Ivester and Rev. Jimmy Maness officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Turnerville.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
