Obituary for Joyce Chitwood Hill
Joyce Chitwood Hill, age 87 of the Habersham Mills Community, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
Born on April 1, 1933 in Ayersville, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Fort Chitwood and Neatie Norton Chitwood. Mrs. Hill was a Lab Tech with Habersham Mills for many years. She grew up in Franklin County, Georgia and was a member of Habersham Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hugh “Boots” Hill; brothers, Steve Chitwood, Clifford Chitwood, Charles Chitwood, Virlyn Chitwood and Kenneth Chitwood; sister, Francine McDonald.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Andrea & David Hunnicutt of Demorest; grandchildren, Shayna René Hunnicutt Dooley, Lucas Isaiah Hunnicutt and Micah Taran Hunnicutt; great-grandchildren, Brynlee Dooley and Rilynn Dooley; brother, James Chitwood of Lavonia; sister, Dorothy Caudell of Atlanta; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 pm, Friday, July 3, 2020 at Habersham Cemetery with Rev. Doug Porter and Rev. Chris Chitwood officiating. These services will be live-streamed for those not able to attend.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:30 pm on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Hill’s memory to the Habersham Cemetery Association, PO Box 521, Clarkesville, GA 30523.
