Joseph Arthur “Joey” Thompson, age 44, of Demorest, passed away on Monday, January, 31, 2022.
Born on November 25, 1977, in Demorest, he was the son of Jackie R. B. Thompson and Beverly Juanita Nation Thompson. Mr. Thompson was employed at Jason Wood Concrete. He was a member of Bethel Temple Congregational Holiness Church and was of the Holiness faith. He loved working on small engines, hunting, fishing, riding motor cycles and riding four wheelers with family.
In addition to his parents he is survived by sons, Blake Thompson (Katlyn) of Demorest, Brody Thompson (Katelyn) of Demorest, Jax Thompson of Demorest, Brandon Burrell of Cornelia; daughters, Paige Thompson (Eli) of Demorest, Kirsten Thompson of Demorest; brothers, Stacy Justus (Mari) of Demorest, Carl Justus of Demorest, Tim Justus of Baldwin, Shane McFall (Charlene) of Dalton; sisters, Tammy Allgary (Charlie) Demorest, Nicole Thompson (Ashby) of Demorest, Hope Reddish (Andrew) of Toccoa; grandchildren, Kathleen, Kayden, Michael, Lucas, Greyson, Gracie and Karlee; several nieces, nephews, other close family and friends,
Funeral services are 2 pm on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Johnny Loudermilk officiating. Interment will follow in Clarkesville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service hour on Tuesday at the funeral home.
