Obituary

James Harold Dodd, age 82 of Alto, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.

Born in Alto, Georgia on October 12, 1937 to the late Henry Pledger Dodd and Mary Iantha Tench Dodd. Mr. Dodd worked in the maintenance department with Mt. Vernon Mills for many years.

Surviving are his wife, Melba Cook Dodd of Alto; sister, Linda Kastner of Cleveland; several sister-n-laws and brother-in-laws; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Anthony Shore officiating.

The family has requested that everyone in attendance please wear a face mask and adhere to the public health and social distancing guidelines.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 am to 10:00 am at the funeral home prior to the service on Thursday.

My condolence to James family. I worked with James many years at Mount Vernon mills and fished with him several times. I know he will be missed and my prayers that God will give you Grace and Peace in your hour of grief. May God bless you in the knowledge of his Son Jesus Christ who conquered death on our behalf.
