Obituary for Frank Arrowood

Frank Arrowood, age 85, of Clarkesville, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022.

Born on October 10, 1937, in Habersham County, he was a son of the late Ed Arrowood and Ora Mae Lewallen Arrowood. Mr. Arrowood was a truck driver for North Georgia Wholesale Company for a number of years, and later retired from Toccoa Housing Authority. He was a former member of New Hope Baptist Church. He is described as being humorous, but also enjoyed helping others around him. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors, taking rides to the mountains, and watching NASCAR and Moonshiners. For the last few years, Mr. Arrowood enjoyed spending time and fellowshipping with his friends at Habersham Retreat.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Joyce McClellan Arrowood; son, Ricky Arrowood; brothers, Jimmy Arrowood, and Brofford Arrowood; sister, Eva Mae Moore; and numerous other siblings; he was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Survivors include, son, James Arrowood of Tiger; daughter and son-in-law, Arlene Whitlock (Martin Boulware); grandchildren, James
Whitlock, Jamie Whitlock, and Rebecca Boulware; great grandchild, Destery Massey; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and many special friends at Habersham Retreat.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the faculty and staff at Habersham Retreat for their care of Mr. Arrowood over the past several years.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022, and from 1 pm until the service hour on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm on Sunday, October 23, 2022, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Ray Davis officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
