Obituary for Bobby Britton Turner
Bobby Britton Turner, age 84, of Demorest, passed away from this life and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.
Born in White County, on May 20, 1938, he was the son of the late Marvin and Ruby Haynes Turner. Bobby was retired after many years as a skilled carpenter. He enjoyed working with his hands, and some of his hobbies included woodworking, and tinkering with radios and TV’s. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching westerns, particularly Gunsmoke. He especially loved spending time with his family and his cat, Girlie.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by brothers and sister-in-law, Thomas (Ophelia) Turner and Larry Turner; brother-in-law, Alton Wofford.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce Wade Turner of Demorest; daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Rev. Michael Cochran of Clarkesville; granddaughters, Chelsea and Philip Wilkes of Mt. Airy, Sarah and Eli Benton of Mt. Airy; great grandsons, Lawson and Hunter Wilkes of Mt. Airy; sister, Joyce Wofford of Cleveland; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
There will be a graveside service held at 11 am on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Return Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Michael Cochran officiating.
