I have lived away for a half century. But I knew all the Stamey’s as neighbors to my family on Washington Street. I recall Betty, nine years younger than me, as a young girl. And I knew from my parents what a good person she was, as others have recounted here. My heart broke when my brother shared this sad news with me. I watch the Georgia health statistics because I am concerned. Betty’s name out a beautiful, smiling face, a home, a family to one of those numbers. My hear goes out to her family and all who knew and loved her.

Betty’s laugh and smile should stay inside all our minds and hearts but should be shared by us too for everyone to see. What we remember most about Betty is what we should want others to remember about us, kind, caring, loving, and giving of our time. May you Rest In Peace Betty. ❤️

I have lost a good friend. Betty was one of the kindest, most caring people I have ever know. My heart is heavy and will miss her very much...but my sorrow could not compare with that of her family. I would like for them to know how deeply sorry I am. I will keep them in my prayers during this hard time.
